On behalf of Cancer Research UK (and me!) I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for your valuable time, enthusiasm and commitment which all contributed to the success of this years Race for Life series in the North East.

We always strive to ‘tweak’ the event each year to make it even better and (so far) I’ve had nothing but complimentary comments about all the events. A lot of hard work goes into the organisation of the event but it was largely due to the team work of all the volunteers and people present that really made the race a day to remember for thousand of people.
In total we had just under 24,000 women take part, which is tremendous and hopefully we will achieve our fundraising target of nearly £1.5 million.
Any operation is only as good as the people on the ground and it is because of the time that you give that we are able to put on such events and make them the success that they are.
It was so lovely to work with a professional ‘bunch’ of staff (and volunteers) that really entered into the spirit of the event. Thanks you.
To date nearly 700,000 women have signed up to take part in Race for Life throughout the country and together with our volunteer support we are sure that we will achieve our target of raising £60 million this year for Cancer Research UK’s life saving work.
